Browsers Bookstore: Writing the Land: Pathways with Kathleen Byrd and Suzanne Simons
Browsers invites you to join them upstairs on Thursday, November 5 at 6:00 PM to hear local poets and professors Kathleen Byrd and Suzanne Simons talk about their experience with Writing the Land. Copies of the anthology will be available for purchase at this event.
Over the past year, the Land Trust has worked with the national anthology Writing the Land, partnering with local poets and professors Kathleen Byrd and Suzanne Simons to create poetry inspired by Nisqually Land Trust conservation lands. Their works honor the unique history, flora, and fauna of the Nisqually River watershed while inspiring us to reflect on our place within it. The section on NLT includes beautiful prose, photography, and art as well. The resulting collection, Writing the Land: Pathways, brings these poems together in a celebration of the lands and places where they were written.
Kathleen and Suzanne spent time on Land Trust properties as they wrote, drawing from their experiences out on the land and the landscapes around them. Join them at Browsers Bookshop for a reading from Writing the Land: Pathways and a conversation about the places that shaped their poems.
